Tomorrow's Edge... Concept to Battlefield Reality  

Tomorrow's Edge heavily influenced the thinking of two generations of military planners.  Its concepts helped give American soldiers important advantages when outnumbered in battle.

Using networks to enable new platforms proved especially prescient.  Today’s ongoing Revolution in Military Affairs (“RMA”) is as much defined by who fights (e.g. unmanned systems) as by how to fight.

The video also helped hasten today's robust interchange of private and public sector technology.  Insitu Group, for example, uses off-the-shelf compontents, to slash the cost of developing unmanned aerial vehicles.  And military communication R&D helped pave the way for ubiquitious cell phones.
